Why it helps

Most everyday apps don't need full power. The Light profile trades a little speed for less heat and longer battery life.

What you'll notice

The phone runs a little cooler and the battery lasts longer, while messaging, browsing and video still feel smooth.

How to set it up

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Settings
  2. Device care
  3. Performance profile
  1. Tap "Device care", then "Performance profile".
  2. Choose "Light".

Needs One UI 6 or later.

Based on reports from owners and the tech press. We have not yet checked it on a phone ourselves.

How to undo it

Choose "Standard" again in the same screen.

Labels can differ. Menu names and their order vary between models and can change with a system update. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for the feature name or one of its other names: Performance profile, Processing speed, Performance mode.
