Help your battery last years longer

Charge limit (battery protection), step by step on Samsung, Pixel and Xiaomi phones.

About 2 minutesBatteryFree in the Phonewell app

Why it helps

Batteries wear fastest when they sit at 100%. Stopping the charge a little earlier keeps more of the battery's capacity as the phone gets older.

What you'll notice

Your phone stops charging at the level you chose, even when it stays plugged in overnight.

How to set it up

Pick your phone.

  1. Settings
  2. Battery
  3. Battery protection
  1. Tap "Battery protection".
  2. Turn on "Battery protection".
  3. Choose "Maximum", then set the limit to 80% or 85%.
