Why it helps

Touch and hold someone in a photo and the phone cuts them out, ready to paste as a sticker or save as an image.

What you'll notice

The person or pet lifts off the background with a glow, and you can paste it into a chat.

When to use it

When you want a sticker of someone in a photo, then touch and hold them in Gallery.

How to set it up

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Gallery
  2. Photo
  3. Touch and hold the subject
  1. Open a photo of a person, pet or object in Gallery
  2. Touch and hold the subject until it lifts out
  3. Tap "Copy", "Share" or "Save as image"

How to undo it

Nothing to switch off: the original photo is unchanged.

Labels can differ. Menu names and their order vary between models and can change with a system update. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for the feature name or one of its other names: cut out, remove background, sticker from photo, copy subject.
