Make the volume buttons change your music

Why it helps

By default the side buttons can change the ringtone volume instead. With this on they always change media, which is usually what you want.

What you'll notice

Pressing volume up or down changes the music and video volume, even when nothing is playing.

How to set it up

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Settings
  2. Sounds and vibration
  3. Volume
  1. Tap "Volume".
  2. Turn on "Use Volume keys for media".

How to undo it

Turn the switch off again in the same screen.

Labels can differ. Menu names and their order vary between models and can change with a system update. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for the feature name or one of its other names: Use Volume keys for media, Media volume buttons.
