Read in bed without the glare
Extra dim, step by step on Samsung and Pixel phones.
Why it helps
Even the lowest brightness can feel harsh in a dark room. Extra dim takes the screen below the normal minimum.
What you'll notice
The screen goes noticeably darker than your usual lowest setting, which is much easier on your eyes in the dark.
When to use it
When you pick up your phone in a dark room, then turn on Extra dim from Quick Settings.
How to set it up
Pick your phone.

Labels can differ. Menu names and their order vary between models and can change with a system update. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for the feature name or one of its other names: Reduce bright colours, Dim screen, Darker screen.
