Why it helps

Talking is about three times faster than typing on glass. The keyboard writes down what you say, punctuation included.

What you'll notice

Long messages appear as you speak, and you only touch up a word here and there.

When to use it

When a message is longer than a sentence, then tap the microphone on the keyboard and say it.

How to set it up

Pick your phone.

  1. Samsung Keyboard
  2. Toolbar
  3. Microphone
  1. Tap any text box so the Samsung Keyboard opens
  2. Tap the microphone icon on the keyboard toolbar

How to undo it

Nothing to switch off: just type as usual.

Labels can differ. Menu names and their order vary between models and can change with a system update. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for the feature name or one of its other names: dictation, speech to text, talk to type, voice input.
