Make the side button do what you want
Side button shortcuts, step by step on Samsung and Pixel phones.
Why it helps
You choose what a double press and a long press do: open the camera, Wallet or an app, call the assistant, or show the power menu.
What you'll notice
Holding the side button does what you expect, instead of something you never use.
How to set it up
Pick your phone.

Based on reports from owners and the tech press. We have not yet checked it on a phone ourselves.

- Open Settings, then "System" and "Gestures"
- Tap "Press & hold power button" and choose the assistant or the power menu

How to undo it
Choose the original options again in the same screen.
Labels can differ. Menu names and their order vary between models and can change with a system update. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for the feature name or one of its other names: power button, side key, bixby button, button shortcut.
