Turn off face and fingerprint unlock in one tap

Lockdown, step by step on Samsung and Pixel phones.

About 1 minuteSafety and privacyGuided in Phonewell Plus

Why it helps

Lockdown makes your PIN the only way in until you next unlock, so nobody can hold the phone up to your face or press your finger on it.

What you'll notice

After Lockdown, the phone ignores your face and fingerprint and asks for your PIN.

When to use it

When someone could force you to unlock your phone with your face or finger, then use Lockdown from the power menu.

How to set it up

Pick your phone.

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Power menu
  1. Open the power menu by pressing the side button and Volume down together.
  2. From One UI 9, opening the power menu turns off face and fingerprint unlock until you enter your PIN.

Needs One UI 9 or later.

How to undo it

Unlock once with your PIN and face and fingerprint unlock work again.

Labels can differ. Menu names and their order vary between models and can change with a system update. If a step doesn't match your phone, search Settings for the feature name or one of its other names: Lockdown mode, Power menu lock.
